Jessica Riggs

Jessica Riggs, MS, RDN, CPT

Jessica Riggs is a Colorado Native hailing from Golden, Colorado. She possesses Bachelor’s degrees in both Dance and Dietetics from Colorado State University, as well as a Master’s degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition.

Jessica completed her Dietetic Internship through the University of Houston and became a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist in 2008. Jessica has worked as a Retail Dietitian for King Soopers and as a Community Nutritionist for Volunteers of America where she taught nutrition and exercise classes to seniors living in subsidized housing residences. Inspired by the observed need for entertainment and interaction in these facilities, Jessica created a nonprofit dance company, Life/Art Dance Ensemble, in 2009 in order to help uplift and entertain this often forgotten group.

In addition to Life/Art's productions, Jessica's choreography and performance have been featured in Ascential Dance Theatre's Assemblage, Transition Theater's Kali Creates Fate, GAMMA-UT's New Music Festival at the University of Texas, the Dairy Arts Center’s Women in Classical Music Soundscape concert, in Prague at the American Music Festival in collaboration with Stratus Chamber Orchestra, and as part of the 10-year remembrance event for the 7/20 Foundation. She has danced with Cindy Brandle Dance Company, Lost Walks Band, and Stacey Temple Dance.

Jessica holds a personal training certification through the American College of Sports Medicine, and is a certified Pilates Mat instructor through The Lab Pilates Method. In addition to running a dance company, Jessica teaches dance classes for youth and adults at the Lakewood Cultural Center. She is excited to continue to advocate for dance in Denver as a member of Rocky Mountain Rhythm's inaugural Board of Directors!
